1st March 2012: BBC1 - The Great British Countryside (South Downs)

I appeared in BBC1 The Great British Countryside with Julia Bradbury around 42mins into the South Downs episode. Filming took place on 17th January at the Kingley Vale Nature Reserve. The first scene was of me shooting my holmegaard bow and hazel wood shaft/flint tipped arrows into a modern straw archery target. Next I demonstrated the basic techniques of flintknapping and then helped Julia to make a simple arrowhead. Finally Julia used my holmegaard bow and managed to shot an arrow straight into the target, which she seem very happy with.

You can watch it again on BBC iPlayer or it will be on DVD from 16th April. I would like to hear your views and opinion of the show.
