6th May 2013: Flintknapping at Old Sarum

I was flintknapping all afternoon at Old Sarum, as part of the English Heritage "SIEGE" event, where members of The Medieval Siege Society lay siege to the Castle, recreating The Wars of the Roses. For once the Bank Holiday weather was very pleasant and this helped to bring in a large crowd of visitors to the Wiltshire site.

I was located outside the Neolithic House enclosure and had a steady stream of visitors talking to me (as they returned to their cars). This was the first time I had seen the newly constructed houses since I was involed in the gathering of materials in January, with the Ancient Technology Centre.
