Discovered in the south shelter in 2003, the Bear stamp seal had minor damage of the forelegs, as all the paws below the head seem to have been intentionally broken on the same level. The small tail is emphasized between the legs.

An increasing number of clay stamp seals are discovred during every excavation, which suggests that the seals were a common artefact group that had been widely used or manufactured in every parts of the settlements and probably most households of Çatalhöyük.

NOTE: Çatalhöyük is generally considered to be a Neolithic site according to the local time period in Turkey
