These earrings have been inspired by the Early Iron Age Necklace from Uddelerveen in the Netherlands, made from bronze torque with a large amber bead attached as shown from the photo of it on display in Rijksmuseum van Oudheden.
These necklaces would have been worn over 2500 years ago and are thought to have been status symbols of elietes in Central and Northern Europe. Often ornamentation is found deposited in graves, but in the case of the Uddelerveen Necklace, it had been sacrificed in a bog.
These replica earrings are made with sterling silver hoops or 14ct gold-filled hoops.
