Bronze Age Ring
Bronze rings are typically found in hoards and come in three main types: coiled, ribbed or plain. Some of these rings seem to be made from reused fragments of metal and a few are far too big to have been worn on the finger. It has therefore been suggested that these rings could have been used as hair ornaments or as harness and horse equipment. These objects are good talking points for museum outreach or for school groups, as they help to illustrate the many challenges of interpreting objects from the past.
This ring is smiliar to an example found as part of a hoard during building works atat Eaton, Norwich in Norfolk.
1 plain ring supplied per order.
Approximately 3cm outside diameter.
These rings are not intended to be worn as jewellery on a finger.
